Our Sustainability Philosophy
Sustainability is the overarching pillar of our business, with a philosophy that embraces our values and holds us accountable to produce smart and prosperous solutions that respect our people and our planet.
Our Employees
We embrace diversity and inclusion, providing a safe and healthy workplace, encouraging work-life balance, fair compensation (SDG8), team spirit and mutual respect, encouraging feedback to empower staff. Together we everyday explore the challenges and opportunities of making a healthier protein (SDG12) nutritious fish more accessible and affordable to the rural poor (SDG1) and urban communities. We are passionate in new best practices and technologies (SDG9) to improve productivity, profitability, and market quality of fish production.

The outcome is employment of descent jobs for both women (SDG5) and youth (SDG8) in cage fish production and an inclusive aquaculture value chain, that leads to an increased aquatic food production system for poverty reduction, hunger(SDG1) , malnutrition, and income generation for Kenyan people (SDG8).
Our Partners
The SDGs can only be realized with strong global partnerships and cooperation. We foster partnerships that are productive, collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships. This way, we ensure our operations and products meet regulatory, sustainability and exceeds our customers’ expectations. We partner with the best in the industry to deliver well thought-out solutions which are sustainable, with emphasis on cost reduction, speed of execution and low environmental footprint.

A successful development agenda requires inclusive partnerships — at the global, regional, national, and local levels — built upon principles and values, and upon a shared vision and shared goals, doing good while doing well, by placing people and the planet at the Centre. Many countries require proven best practices and innovative technologies and Official Development Assistance to encourage growth and trade. Yet, aid levels are falling, and donor countries have not lived up to their pledge to ramp up development finance.
Our Community
At SasAqua, we believe in community empowerment. We also believe that sustainable business of the 21st century should all be able to ‘do good while doing well’. We promote resilient live hoods through our sustainable and innovative aquaculture best practices. We contribute to strengthening the resilience of artisanal fishing communities, to be more inclusive, especially for women (SDG5) and unemployed youth, through income opportunities and food security (SDGs 8.5 and 8.6). We actively support socio-economic activities that raise the standard of living and education (SDG4) in our communities by provision of gender equality and job creation for all, clean water (SDG6) and healthcare (SDG3).
